Our Wine Estate
The Delaunay family has been cultivating vines in Loroux-Bottereau, in the heart of the Nantais vineyards, for several generations.
Today, Domaine Delaunay forms an attractive 45-hectare estate, bringing together the region’s finest varieties and an outstanding terroir.
Our vineyards also go by the name Domaine du Val- Fleuri, which is why flowers can be found on our bottles and are a symbol of the estate.
Three different subsoils – gneiss, amphibolite and schist – can be found among our terroir and the roots of the vines dig down deep to draw out the best expression of each of them.
Today our vineyard is home to several varieties, including Melon B (Muscadet Sèvre & Maine), Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of the vines are up to 60 years old.
The vineyard’s sloping terrain is ideal and enables the vines to express their true potential.
At Domaine Delaunay we have adopted a sustainable approach using winegrowing methods that are respectful of the environment.
Our Muscadet sur lie is aged on lees in underground vats. This brings freshness and finesse to the wines along with a distinctively elegant character.
The modern winemaking methods that we have introduced enable us to produce varietal wines with beautifully fruity aromas.
